- EKGs can detect about 94% of heart conditions in athletes in the asymptomatic phase according to Dr. John Higgins, a sports cardiologist at University of Texas Science Center in Houston, American Journal of Medicine, August 2015.
- False positives are actually rarer than previously reported- < 6% which is less than with a pap smear according to Dr. Higgins’ commentary in AJM.
